Along with his wife Shirley, Stephen launched his real estate career in 1988. The market in those early years certainly tested them. High interest rates, plummeting prices, bloated inventory levels made it critical that they learned the basics and set a solid foundation in their business that would serve them well in years to come. Starting their family in the mid 90's they decided to build their business around their family activities and personal interests. A strong referral based business ensued. Whether at the hockey rink playing, coaching, being a fan in the stands or pursuing their interests in running and triathlon their was no shortage of people to meet and clients to serve.
The move to Keller Williams in October 2012 was the next logical step in their growth plan for their business. Stephen and Shirley embraced the strategies of creating the ultimate client experience by creating a team concept in their business. The Hanlon Team jumped to a whole other level of production and service. Shirley took over the team while Stephen embraced the opportunity of becoming the Team Leader of a relaunching market center. Drawing on his years of experience as a Realtor was not enough. Gaining clarity around Mission, Vision, Values, Beliefs, Perspective and applying many of the tools taught through KWU courses like Quantum Leap, 6 Personal Perspectives and other training material he was able to be more purposeful. The result was growth on a personal level, in the people around him and prosperity in the market center.
Stephen has volunteered in the past with Sick Kids Hospital, as a minor hockey coach and was the race announcer for a local children triathlon that grew into a national race series called TRiKiDS. It seems like a natural fit when he found out about the Keller Williams Kids Can(KWKC) program that developed the QL curriculum based on Keller Williams co-founder Gary Keller's Quantum Leap course. This would allow him to share KW culture with a broader audience that was not necessarily focused on Real Estate. Both his sons attended that very first session delivered by Gary Keller and have since attended additional QL days to great effect in their lives. Teaching young adults, helping instructors connect and deliver the powerful and timely content of this course are big motivators in Stephen's own Mission.
Stephen draws on his experiences in his career, his battle with cancer, his participation in The Boston Marathon & Ironman Florida and the coaching and consulting he now does in his role at KW to help relate the material to QL attendees. This content bridges the gap between education and life. He invites you to enjoy the journey with him after all it's all about the journey and not the destination.
